Happy Holidays from Ramp Your Voice!Leave a Comment
I wanted to take the time to wish all of my readers, followers, and supporters a very Happy Holiday season. Tis the season for family and friends gatherings, hot cocoa, eggnog, presents, and watching childhood favorites Christmas movies.
For this season, I plan to do a lot of self-care and relaxing, as I have the next week off from work. During this time, I will continue brainstorming and planning advocacy projects, outlining blog post series (I have 2 in the making), and writing a to-do list of what needs to be jumpstarted in January. Yes, I do plan to “work,” but this kind of work is fun since it requires me to envision my next steps as an advocate.
In the midst of strategizing, I will have make time for fun by hanging out with some of my favorite people. Scheduling a mini getaway (that’s more like a staycation) has been a true highlight for me; I plan to eat yummy foods, shop til I drop, and be around some of the people that matter most in my life. This getaway will assist in “recharging” my batteries, so to speak, and allow me to breathe a little easier as the Holiday season winds down.
Of course, this season is bittersweet since tomorrow (Christmas Eve) will mark the one year anniversary of my beloved Grandmother’s (who I called “Big V” on the blog) passing. The past 2 months have been an emotional rollercoaster for me, filled with moments that were hard to get through. However, I am thankful for the friends who have checked in on me; their actions and words have meant so much during this time. Despite the crashing waves of grief, I am still rolling and have not tipped over.
I hope each and every one of you are safe, have plenty of laughs and good food over the next week, and are gearing up to make 2017 the year where you thrive and conquer your goals and dreams.
